Il Mondo Di Paola Turci, a nicely sung world indeed

"I bought this two-CD set because I heard one of the songs at the pizza shop. There's a lot of material here, much of it very glossy, routine europop, which turned me off a little bit, but I have to say that after six months or so of listening to it the record has grown on me.
My favorite song is "Luci e misteri di Cinecitta," in which Paola just sings verses composed of the names of great Italian actors, actresses, directors and movies. It always puts a smile on my face, especially when she gets to "Richard Burton" in that incredibly sexy Italian accent.
Most importantly, Paola Turci has one incredible singing voice. It is beautiful and warm and always on key; she never overstrains, which makes the songs sound extremely intimate. It is a pleasure to hear her sing, even if I don't understand Italian hardly at all."
