""Getting Away with Murder" is Papa Roach's best effort to date as in this album you can sense their confidence and grasp with their musical talents more clearly than ever before. While the other two albums were without a doubt great, this one shows the band as more of a solid hard-rock band rather than your typical Nu-Metal performers. While the theme of heartbreak, tragedy and sadness has not changed, the way they approach their demons has changed into a much more solid and distinct sound.
They have completely dropped the rap-rock with this album (it was apparent that they would be doing so since it was hardly on "LoveHateTragedy), and I think they're better for it. While I liked their rap-rock, I think the lead singer has a great singing voice and he gets his point across more clearer in the songs this way. The album is heavy, but not extremely heavy. It's heavy when it needs to be. I really love the guitars and drumming on every single song. They're even more present than ever before. I also can't help but notice the strength of the lyrics in all of these songs, as well. There really are lines and sections of songs that will stay in your head. I'm sure some people will be upset with the sad tone of some of the songs, but if you can't deal with your demons through music, then what else is there left to do?
This is another one of those albums that you do not have to worry about skipping tracks. I loved every single song, but I do have my favorites. The best songs, in my opinion, are "blood (empty promises)," "not listening," "getting away with murder," "be free," "take me," "stop looking start seeing," and "do or die." It's really hard to list favorites, but those are the best tracks. It really is a great album in a whole.
I can't say enough good things about Papa Roach's "Getting Away with Murder." They haven't lost their touch, and they have also grown more as a band with this recent release. It's sad that it most likely won't get the attention it deserves, as is the case with most of the other great albums out there. If you miss the sound of "Infest," then you may not like this newer release. If you were digging the change in "LoveHateTragedy," then there's a really good chance you'll enjoy this album. I highly recommend this for any fans of hard rock. This CD will stay in my CD player for a long time. -Michael Crane"
Mmmmm...nice stuff. Not what I expected.

"So I'm new to Papa Roach. I don't have any of their old albums but I have this one.
It's wonderfully lyrical and the tunes all seem to strike a chord with me. I've never heard them very much before and I never really was interested in them. But I picked this up because I liked "Getting Away With Murder."
What WAS I expecting? Something Korn..ish. Screamy vocals with hard hitting guitars. You know...Nu metal or whatever they want to call it.
Well this is almost kind of like melodic punk, like Finch or My Chemical Romance. I love those groups, and when I heard the songs on this album, well, wow. Was I ever surprised.
I'm not sure what they used to sound like, but this is good. I'd pick it up, and I'd enjoy it, just like I am now. Mmm...
One of my favorite songs on the CD is "Done With You". I think that song really shows the melodic side of this band which is very good.
Go on, buy it. Don't be shy."
A great change

"in the case of sellout i think papa roach defends themselves pretty well with this album. in the death of rap metal, i believe they started losing their fan base and they were starting to become a band that was remembered by "cut my life into pieces." Love Hate Tragedy was horrible and nowhere close to Infest so... they give us this and it is a very well put together cd. more catchy, more melodic plus they have shown us how well rounded they really are. if you are a papa roach fan and are scared to buy this because of the change.. i say go for it. it might suprise you."
Great Album!

"Didn't expect to like this as much as I did, because I didn't really like "Infest", but when I heard "Take Me" on the radio, I bought it and glad I did. Each song has a great hook and doesn't sound the same as the last. It was a long time coming, but they really hit home with this one! I'll be back for more."

"I was totally nervous that it was over after the second cd. They came out like gangbusters with their debut, the second cd - not so much, but the boys are back. Everysong is good on this cd and some of them, dare I say it, are GREAT! Love it! So glad that I bought this one!!!"
