CD ReviewsGreat old music Mark J. Smith | Upstate New York | 06/27/2009 (5 out of 5 stars) "This CD is the kind of legendary music that you remember from days gone by. I am so happy to finally have the CD version of one of my favorite old albums. This is really great stuff!!!" Good AND Bad ! B. Miller | Milwaukee, WI. USA | 08/20/2009 (3 out of 5 stars) "Like everybody else who loves this group, I was extremely happy to see it finally out on CD. Lucky me I only ordered the first release and not the 2nd. The problem is in the remastering, it's got almost no bottom end. The sound quality is VERY thin and it's hard to get enough bass on it. Both the album and cassette are very superior in sound! Since both releases are issued by Zoom Club Records, I'm wondering if "Big Town" is also this badly redone ???" Minefield of talent Gary B. Gray | Bristol, Va. | 12/26/2009 (4 out of 5 stars) "Rumored to have been produced by Jimmy Page, the album is a masterpiece which I hold in high regard. Black Book is a flat-pick scraping hard-rocker. I've cherished it for decades and figured it lost, except for myself. Beautiful Youth is as fun to play as it is to listen to. It has an edge that can't be found in the mainstream, either then or today. In all, the CD is a keeper. I keep going back to it when the status quo just won't do. I saw Paris in Seattle at a defunct roller rink for a can of food. Unique to say the least. Glad I have the CD. Best when cranked."
