"Looking back, I don't even remember how I happened upon this record. I'm sure it was the fact that I ate, drank, and slept for CCM music and the magazine that coined the term. All I know is that sometime that year, I happened upon this album, released originally by A&M records. It was Louis Johnson's side project with his wife Valerie. I knew him from his work with the Brothers Johnson and their fabulous funky disco from the 70s. This almbum had a decidedly religious message, but it didn't sacrifice great production and playing... and most of all that Brothers Johnson slappin' bass.



I just downloaded this album, and I love it. Unfortunately, it doesn't sound like the original masters were used... there are some pops and clicks, making me think it was mastered from a good LP copy. But other than that, it sounds a lot better than the copy I keep next to my turn table.



If you like the Brothers Johnson, you'll like this... as long as you don't mind a little light Xian message or two.



Man, it brings back memories!"
