"ok this hurts me more than almost anything in music. patrice is 1 of the most proliphic singers ever & still no real american release even though hes on sony but a foreign division, such as italian reggae dub group almamegretta is on bmg/rca but italian so their imports. patrtice even sings in english & has on of the best jamaican style singin, like damian marley singin more falseto at times. absolutelly amazing uplifting inspirational lyrics.
ancient spitits:
his first album, half studio & half live tracks. now for a first album which dosent have in my oppionion the money required to made such a great record of the caliber, but quite the oposite, amazing reggae style slightelly bringin in more r&b feel & acoustic guitar & singin numbers, but his lyrical style takes you through each song flawleselly.
how do you call it?
how this album more than his first album i was blow away. this album has everything in my opinion required to make a great multi cultured album. his singin is a cross between rasta/r&b, really only comparable to damian marley, then throws in reggae hip hop dub soul funk. the musicians are as good as the most expensive band could offer, amazing hooks & variety. this album bothers me because it should be available at every music retaler in the world. in my opionon reggae in general has really been stale in the past, unlike the greats like capleton, sizzla, bounty killa, damian marley, stephen marley, which are giving everyone what they expect from the genre. but patrice belongs on that list, & some air time, such as jewish reggae artist matisyahu, just because hese hacetic, his music is great but if he gets to have the spotlight their is more room for more artist in the genre, these greats could save this genre & bring it back to the people & their could be much more quality music circulatin. but this in my opinion his his best record yet,
nile: 2005
better than the first & almost as good as how, but this album has some amazing songs like soulstorm, africanize dem, lil paradies. all are worth owning, but good luck getting them. you can look & buy them all on amzon.de the german site, or go to patrice.com, theirs a french & english site.
silly walks movements meets patrice:
this is straight reggae stylin & a whopper at that. absolutelly cronic reggae flava, verry traditional but lots of new flava, their is also a dub edit of oness with just no vocals. have to check that out though.
i first heard patrice on a few tracks just singin on german electronic guru burnt friedman on his album can't cool, which the music is like patrices but with lots of dub effects, patrice is on 2 songs, life is worth dying for & geting things straight. if you are already a patrice fan check out german jamaican singer gentleman.
