Tasty indeed

"This 2 CD set features early post-Labelle Patti. With so many reissues to her credit, much of this is already on CD. But "Save the Last Dance for Me" may itself be worth the price. In '78, I did not think it was all that, but today it seems like genius. Credit the swell production and Patti's restrained, competent vocals.
There are a few other gems on "Tasty" : Eyes in the Back of My Head is one of them. "Don't Let Go" works. "I See Home" is fine."

"Patti, Patti, Patti, what can I say. This one of the greatest vocalist of all time. I was so glad to find these treasures on cd. Here she showcases her different ranges. On some of the songs you hear a more subtle and beautiful voice while on others you hear Patti in her trademark belt which is just as beautiful. My favorite cuts are of course her anthem, "You Are My Friend," but there are hidden gems such as "Since I Don't Have You," "Do I Stand A Chance," "Little Girls," and "I see home." Classic Patti at her best."
POWERFUL PATTI

"Patti's first 2 solo albums on CD. I already had the US " PATTI LABELLE " on CD, but bought this to finally have Patti's 2nd solo " TASTY " on CD. You can hear Patti at her peak vocally on these 2 albums. What can you say about one of the best, most powerful singers that ever lived? These albums contain POWERFUL PATTI and she sings just about every type of genre on these albums. This was when Patti was really letting loose in the studio, and there are no dull moments on here, except for one total clunker named LITLE GIRLS that makes you wonder why did she sing that ?
But everything else is stellar with Hard Funk, Big Ballads, Blues, Patti doing a Bob Dylan song, Gospel, Oldies , even Latin with the awesome TEACH ME TONIGHT. Dig the funk & that bass line of the funk nasty FUNKY MUSIC [ SHO 'NUFF TURNS ME ON ], and how about that blowing harmonica on YOU CAN'T JUDGE A BOOK BY THE COVER . Powerful Patti all over the place here on these 22 songs. There's no end to my favorite songs on these 2 1977/1978 releases."
Finally on CD!!

"I'm glad to see that they FINALLY released the song "Teach Me Tonight (Me Gusta Tu Baile)" on CD.
It's a great Latin beat song with a strong soul Diva's voice that only Patti can sing. One of her best."
