""Christmas with Patti Page" is a classic family christmas cd for christmas morning when the kids and adults open their presents. It is full of so much fun and cheer, smiles will be plentiful and the mood of christmas will be in the air.
Recorded, I believe, in the 1950`s or 1960`s, it`s traditional style is as good today as it was back then. I would compare it as a mix of Rosemary Clooney`s "Songs from White Christmas and other Yueltide favorites" and Ray Conniff`s "Christmas with Conniff." But Patti Page does keep it original as well, especially with the children`s chorus which back her up in almost every song. And let me tell you, this is the best children`s chorus there is, at least that I know of.
One of my favorite versions of SANTA CLAUS IS COMING TO TOWN (and just maybe my favorite) is on this cd as well as other great songs like SILVER BELLS (one of my favorite versions as well), RUDOLPH THE RED-NOSED REINDEER, and great new ones like CHRISTMAS BELLS and the beautiful HAPPY BIRTHDAY JESUS (A CHILD`S PRAYER) which will probably really move you, maybe even to tears as it is just so sincere as the children`s chorus hum SILENT NIGHT and Patti Page reads a child`s prayer to Jesus as if being that child herself. Real moving.
Again, this is a great cd for christmas morning, but for any time at christmas as well, when decorating the tree, baking cookies, and just whenever you feel like listening to a good, cheerful christmas cd. This is one of my favorites."

"Again, Patti Page shows her versitality in the song selections of this album. For us Christians, the song "Happy Birthday Dear Jesus" reflects what Christmas and our Lord Jesus Christ is all about. However, this is the only religious song in the album. Her Columbia albums revealed a deeper and richer voice in Patti. The material is good, and Miss Page doesn't disappoint her fans. Try this album, you'll enjoy it."
A CHRISTMAS TO REMEMBER

"Everything Patti recorded for her Columbia albums in the 1960s was well planned and produced. Each LP had a theme and some of her best performances were recorded during her stay at Columbia. When this album was recorded fall of 1965, Patti was just coming off the Top 10 hit, HUSH HUSH SWEET CHARLOTTE. Patti's arrangers and producers decided this was a perfect time for a new Christmas album since the original 12 inch album on Mercury was 10 years old. Patti does marvels with SILVER BELLS, LITTLE DRUMMER BOY, the too often missed SANTO NATALE and of course the song which became Patti 's biggest Christmas hit ever, HAPPY BIRTHDAY JESUS. Patti is a consummate storyteller and this selection again shows her skill, sincerity and perfection. This is a CD which is a family affair as many selections include an unnamed children's chorus. There are the secular and the traditional. This CD deserves to be available each Christmas."
