"This is a great CD. I was unfamiliar with Patti Page and wanted to get a general CD with her greatest hits. This is it! These are the original recordings of her songs, digitized for CD quality (and they sound superb)."

"Twelve of the biggest hits of the 50s on one CD!!! All by the same artist!! Patti had at least 23 Top 10 hits in the 50s which must have made it difficult for Mercury to choose 12 to showcase her best. From Patti's first million seller WITH MY EYES WIDE OPEN through her biggest hit TENNESSEE WALTZ(over 10 million) right up through the later 50s million sellers OLD CAPE CODE and ALLEGHENY MOON. If what you want are her 12 best known songs in their original 50s glory this is it."
Outstanding performance by a great singer.

"Patty Paige is without question one of the greatest singers of any era. This c.d. merely reinforces that fact. Anyone with an ear for melody, phrasing, combined with a beautiful voice, must agree that this is a fantastic talent."
A solid 12 song comp and best seller for Mercury since 1960

"This collection is a reissue of the classic compilation from 1960 entitled "Golden Hits" on Mercury which among its 12 songs are several of her signature songs including Tennessee Waltz, Doggie In The Window, Cross Over The Bridge, Changing Partners, Allegheny Moon and others from the early 1950s in their original form. Although the 2 volume "Patti Page Collection" and the boxed set "A Golden Celebration" are more comprehensive, this is still worth having for Patti Page on the go and this has been a perennial best seller since it was released in 1960. She would later sign with Columbia and come back with many more hits including "Hush Hush Sweet Charlotte" but to start with this is the cream of the crop and on this CD it includes "With My Eyes Wide Open I'm Dreaming" while the Millennium Collection is notable for restoring "Let Me Go Lover" back in print as the boxed set and Vol. 2 of the Patti Page Collection are now out of print."
ONE OF THE ALL-TIME GREATS!!

"BACK IN THE 50'S THIS GAL CROSSED OVER WITH HER COUNTRY INFLUENCE TO POP MUSIC.SHE NOT ONLY WAS VERY PRETTY AND SWEEET, BUT HER VOICE WAS SWEET TOO!JUST LISTEN TO "ALLEGHANY MOON" AND "OLD CAPE COD".SHE WAS ON A T-V PROGRAM CALLED "THE BIG RECORD" WHERE SHE PERFORMED TUNES LIKE "CROSS OVER THE BRIDGE",WHICH WAS A HUGE HIT! THESE WERE THE EARLY 50'S AND HER CONTEMPORARYS WERE SINGERS LIKE GALE STORM ("IVORY TOWER"), WHO SANG IN SIMILIAR STYLE, ALSO KITTY KALLEN, TERESA BREWER,PEGGY LEE ETC.IN THE 60'S SHE RETURNED WITH ANOTHER HIT SONG "HUSH, HUSH SWEET CHARLOTTE" FROM THE SCARY MOVIE WITH BETTE DAVIS.I RECOMMEND THIS C.D. HIGHLY AS THEY ARE THE ORIGINAL MERCURY RECORDINGS AND HAVE NEVER SOUNDED BETTER!"
