"By now you know I'm a Patti fan. Her 60s albums were among her best: great arrangements, song selection and sound. So naturally I've waited a long time for these 60s gems on CD! You will not be disappointed. The voice is mellow, sultry, inviting and the addition of 3 previously unreleased cuts makes this a great collection. One wonders why ON THE OTHER SIDE was never released as a single. The Seekers received some airplay but the song deserved more attention than it got. I can only think that because DJs began spinning GENTLE ON MY MIND from the Today, My Way lp that it was released as a single instead of ON THE OTHER SIDE.
The other great previously unreleased selection TOY BALLOON can only have been recorded as a possible single. All selections on HONEY COME BACK were big chart hits for other artists and Toy Balloon was basically an unknown song.
This collection along with the companion volume SAY WONDERFUL THINGS/LOVE AFTER MIDNIGHT means all Patti's original Columbia LPs have been/are available on CD. Collectibles previously released HUSH HUSH SWEET CHARLOTTE/GENTLE ON MY MIND and the GREATEST HITS and AMERICA'S FAVORITE HYMNS are available on Columbia/Sony. CHRISTMAS WITH PATTI PAGE is available if you can find it as I believe it is no longer being manufactured in the US."
