A Wonderful Effort from Miss Pravo

"This is just a great album - well produced and well thought out. The first and last tracks are Orchestral only - entrance and exit music, so to speak. Patty's version of My Way in Italian gets the album going on a good path right from the beginning - she could give Old Blue Eyes a run for his money. Patty then sings Lover Man in passable English. The single off this album was Io and it is a great track. All in all, this is the best of Patty's 3 albums recorded for Philips."

"Self-produced by Ms. Pravo and arranged by the great Bill Conti. A brilliant, cohesive effort, featuring Ms. Pravo's full-throttle vibrato, a good bit different from her current, 21st century singing.
A great mix of rock-jazz:
her stand-out versions of My Way (A Modo Mio) and Lover Man [Oh, Where Can You Be]
rock ballad [Solo Un Uomo, and Io, a sizeable hit]
French art-pop [Col Tempo (Avec le temps), Piccino (Petite)]
international pop [Non so perche mi sto innamorando (The Way of Love, that supercedes Cher's version)
...as well as Sonny & Cher's A Cowboy's Work Is Never Done/Per me amico mio
and featuring the the stunning Un po' di piu', the b-side of "Io"
Very tasty and satisfying, like a great Italian, hearty meal. I've been listening to this since it was first released in the early 70's, and find it still compelling for Ms. Pravo's performance, for the song selection, and brilliant, innovative arrangements."
