CD ReviewsExcellent smooth jazz album! Good job on the remakes too! Preston | nc | 07/11/2005 (5 out of 5 stars) "In the past 12 months, I have heard several jazz albums that had songs produced by Paul Brown (Peter White, Michael Lington, Norman Brown and Euge Groove's albums), about 10-15 of his songs. But this is the first album that Brown has done himself, and it succeeds on all levels. Excellent smooth jazz, especially the first song. The remakes are fabulous and he gives them a modern touch without resorting to nostalgic levels. The best one is My Funny Valentine. Phat Vibe is the best of the original numbers." Keep on playin', lose the singin'!! Bryan Bessner | Toronto, Canada | 08/02/2005 (3 out of 5 stars) "I was attracted to Paul Brown's music through hearing an instrumental on the radio. After I bought and received the album, I put it on with great anticipation, only to be disappointed. Not by Paul's musicianship and instrumental abilities, but by his singing! He has a ho-hum kind of voice, which does not enhance the songs on which he puts it to use. If you read this, Paul, I'm sorry, but that's my opinion (and I'm a musician myself). The instrumental cuts on this album are just fine, but I won't buy any others if I know that there is his singing on it. It is not that he's out of tune, or unrhythmical, it's just not an interesting voice."
