"I remember as a boy really enjoying listening to "Cool Night" and "65 Love Affair" and indeed it was really for these 2 tracks that I got this effectively best of album of Paul Davis. The other tracks here are not fillers but certainly are not as good as those two tracks. Paul's music falls into that same genre that was very popular in the early 80s to which also belong the likes of Robbie Dupree, John O'Banion and Jim Photoglo and if you like these guys' work, you will also love this album. The whole album is a great representation of the soft, mellow love song genre and the sound quality is good having been remastered well. I had the previous Japanese release and I can tell you the sound quality has really improved a great deal in this mini-lp replica sleeve (mlps) version. Also included is a 20-page booklet containing all the lyrics in both English and Japanese. Too bad the cardboard sleeve is poorly designed and constructed though from very thin cardboard that looks like it will come apart soon once the glue gets old. The album cover though is the original U.S. release lp (Paul laid back with his hands behind his head for support) one although they do include a square glossy sheet of the Japanese release front cover which is what is displayed on this site.
Poor mlps design but good remastering job for a much improved sound over the original cd release. A great album to get for all the lovers and romantics out there a.k.a. the "chick flick" of music."
