CD Reviews

Excellent

"If you like Free and would like to listen to some of their less kown work, here is one for you. This album contains some pure and raw guitar work by one of the greatest guitarists , Paul Kossof. More guitar and more Blues than in any of Free's albums. A pure guitar pleasure to the ear."
Molten gold guitar:)

"Paul Kossoff is my favorite guitarist because of his deep emotional soulfull playing! Koss you will never be forgotten! This is a compilation with most tracks from the Tribute compilation lp simply named "Koss", it's a nice compilation to own especially if you don't already own "Koss"! Koss'll make cry, he was such an open guitarist! To me his work is all a voice of heaven! I try my best to collect every song Koss has played in, and it's not easy! But it's worth it!!!! I think any blues fan will appreciate Koss's playing!, he was a musical master, sadly we lost him!! I salute you Paul Kossoff!! I'm sure you'll find Koss's work to be magical where ever he played, if it was in Free or elsewhere!"
Great artist,frustrating compilation...

"You probably don't need me to convince you that Paul Kossoff was an all-time top player in the echelon of Guitar Gods. That being said, this compilation wins my begrudging endorsement mostly by default. Due to an unfortunate lack of CD re-issues of Kossoff's non-Free projects, this lone collection will have to do for now. The inclusion of several Free tracks, for instance, was pointless, as the Free catalogue is still (largely) available. While there are several tracks from Kossoff's excellent Back Street Crawler Band, the versions on this CD are live, not the superior studio versions.Worth tracking down: "Kossoff, Kirke, Tetsu & Rabbitt",which I luckily found in a shop recently. It's on Island UK(import),beautifully remastered, and features some of Kossoff's best studio playing outside of his work with Free. Happy hunting!"
