"Paul Mauriat was a French orchestra leader, specializing in instrumental pop music. He is best known in the United States for his remake of André Popp's "Love is Blue", which was #1 for 5 weeks in 1968. Paul Mauriat was awarded the Gran Prix from the French recording industry, a MIDEN trophy, and the prestigious "Commandeur des Arts et des Lettres" from the French Ministry of Culture.
This is an amazing compilation album of his very best orchestrated songs. Every single song shows wonderful arrangements of instruments providing you with feelings for dreams, inspiration, and love. The sound quality of the compilation album is a touch notch. Some of my favorites songs are "Love is Blue", "Song for Anna", "Nocturne ", "Pearl Fishers", "Jeux Interdits", Toccata", "El Bimbo", "Those Were the Days". Sit back and enjoy the wonderfully symphonic Mauriat sound. I cannot get tired listening to this CD. Highly recommended!

"Purchased this product as a gift for my husband. We are seniors and like this kind of music. Paul Mairiat is one of my husbands favorites and he wasn't disappointed in this one. Good mood, good listening, and really good for the spirit."

"I have loved listening to this CD ever since I got it and really appreciate some of his own pieces possibly better than more well know ones like "Love is Blue". He does a very nice version here. A very fine pianist, "Nocturne" is especially nice, as well as "Etude in a new Form" which I find delightful and energetic, as well as unpredictable in a pleasant way. Always professional, beautiful arrangements. I have always felt him to be under rated- Perhaps because he is "From across the Pond"?, and because he is associated more with his popular releases, which aren't his best work to me."
