Great songs and great group

"Paul Revere and the Raiders were another great 1960's group. This CD covers most of their hits, but even though it was made covering the hits before "Indian Reservation," a Paul Revere and the Raiders Greatest Hits album is not complete without that song on it. They do a great job on "Louie, Louie," sometimes I think it's better than the original. "Just Like Me" is a great tune as well. Only thing keeping this CD from 5 stars is it is missing "Indian Reservation.""
Stones-like, this album takes me back to simpler rock & roll

"There is a lot of energy here, and a rebel attitude to the lyrics that hits the times that they were written for perfectly. By those standards, PR&R could shock as well as rock. For it's day, it was main stream, musically. I love the guitar work, and Lindsay's vocals just seem to fit, somehow. "Balad..." has cheesy lyrics, but the sax is right on! Many of the tracks speak to those of us who were young(er) in the sixties. I see it as a less-British-than-the-Stones bad boy deal. Maybe that's how we wanted to feel then, or maybe it's how we thought we felt. At any rate , the album rates as a favorite of mine. The group always has... -Dave-"

"while its true that melody for an unknown girl was out of the raiders genre, it pointed out that their ability to produce music wasnt limited to pop... this tune has haunted me for 25 years.. sappy? silly?? perhaps... to others, to me its simply beautiful."
