"I have known about Paul Schemling for some time now. I first learned of Paul threw his association with the Boston Jazz Ensemble. I never will forget his great performance on "Unforgettable". He played this song in a duet with a bassist and I was more than impressed. I knew from this performance that I needed to explore Paul to the fullest.This cd that i'm revewing doesn't have any of these high profile performances like "Unforgettable", but it has some acceptable performances that I can enjoy and cherish. Paul is a brilliant pianist, but like so many performers he had a little trouble in keeping his piano melodic. Let me try to explain this statement that I just made. For a few of his songs Paul tried to improvise way too much. He seemed to drift off the melody more than I liked. I think your basic sound was alright.Paul, I love your music, but some minor adjustments need to be made to keep me happy. I know it is hard to please everyone.Recommendation: I would like to recommend this cd."
