"Paul Wilbur's album was my first introduction to the messianic style of Christian worship. And what an introduction it was! The sound is so uniquely and distinctly Jewish, but it's a sound that is irresistably appealing and exotic. Combine this with deep, meaningful lyrics, many taken straight from the pages of scripture, and you get a sense for what it must have sounded like in the courts of King David as he performed the Psalms.
This music lends itself very easily to real worship. I have used this during our worship time with our small group bible study, and regularly "go to church" as I listen to this CD on my daily commute. It will touch your heart with songs of intimate praise like "Show Me Your Face" or "Dance With Me." It will bring joy to your heart as you ponder the glory of the risen Christ with "Prepare the Way" and "To Him Who Sits Upon the Throne." But best of all is the rousing finale and title track, "Lion of Judah," which anticipates the final glorification of the Messiah with overwhelming triumph and excitement!
If you've never experienced the sound of messianic worship before, this CD is a great place to start. If you try it, I'm confident that you won't be disappointed."

"This recording represents the last in a trilogy of live recordings from Jerusalem which take their lives from the three pilgrim feasts of the Lord as described in Leviticus 23. Based on the Feast of Pentecost, it is a powerful celebration of the giving of the Law on Mount Sinai and the giving of the Spirit to the believers in Jerusalem. From the jubilant sounds of "Come Let's Go Up to Jerusalem" and "To Him Who Sits on the Throne" to songs of intimate worship like "Show me your Face" and "Dance with Me," LION OF JUDAH is an extraordinary experience of powerful Messianic worship.Come to the Feast of the Lord as Paul Wilbur beckons believers to join the celebration on Mount Zion as they worship the One who pours out His Spirit!!!HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!!"

When We Worship, the Lion of Judah ROARS!

"Pure worship, and pure call to worship... that is how I see Paul Wilbur's music, including LION OF JUDAH.
From song to song the listener is reminded that the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith, and the just shall live by faith (Rom. 1:17): that is *true* righteousness, not a color-of-righteousness brand of deception such as the enemy uses to kill, steal, destroy...
I have found it next to impossible to be still during "Come Let's Go Up to the Mountain," which has a Celtic-type rhythm that demands the body to *move* in dance and praise and call to worship. (Sometimes I use this one for a good aerobic/cardiac workout before exercising, and sometimes just for sheer fun, as I love to dance unto the Lord).
"Show Me Your Face," is powerful throughout and concludes with a reminder of what it takes to endure to the end, "We will make it to the end. If we could just see your face. I will make it to the end. Abba show me your face."
There is great, revealed truth in Psalm 25:14, "The LORD confides in those who fear him; he makes his covenant known to them," and we are reminded of such *wonderful* intimacy in "Dance With Me." This is a "naked-and-not-ashamed" love song, that in few words expresses love that can neither be shut down nor shut out. The lines include, "Behold you have come, over the hills, over the mountains, to me you have run, my beloved, you've captured my heart. With you I will go. You are my love. You are my fair one. Winter is past and the springtime has come."
LION OF JUDAH is the second Paul Wilbur CD I have bought, and I do love it; however, I love THE WATCHMAN above all others. I consider both indispensable worship aids for my private worship time.
I have been listening to this CD again while writing this review and feel the quickening of the Holy Spirit throughout my inmost being. My beloved has declared that it is his passion and persuasion that it is appropriate for believers to be consumed by thankfulness. I have been wooed and won to dwell in such state without ceasing, day and night, awakening with praises to our Lord upon my lips as I behold him with open face and am changed into His image, from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord. (2 Cor. 3:18).
The bottom line is: when we worship, the Lion of the Tribe of Judah, ROARS!"
