CD ReviewsThe Definitive Peabo Compilation.... chakasworld | Atlanta, GA United States | 01/15/2003 (4 out of 5 stars) "...Would be complete if it included Bryson's AWESOME duet with Regina Belle titled, you guessed it, 'A Whole New World'!! Yes, that Grammy-nominated classic song was not included on this 2 CD anthology, and that mistake costs the CD 1 star in my rating.(They also forgot Peabo's duet with Celine Dion titled 'Beauty & The Beast'!!) On the other hand, you do get the BEST collection-overview of Peabo's long career. There are rare songs from his debut album, and the classic songs from Peabo's Capitol era are presented in thier full-length splendor (I hate edits!!), and the remastering makes the sound quality top notch. Music from Peabo's tenure at Columbia is also included, and the informative liner notes were written by the reliable David Nathan. In short, this 2 CD Peabo Bryson Anthology is missing a few key tracks ('A Whole New World' & 'Beauty & The Beast' for example!!), and there was enough space on either of the 2 discs to add more music, so there's no excuse for Capital to use. My ratings on a scale of 1-10:Sound Quality (Rating=10), Song Selection (Rating=7.5), and Packaging (Rating=9). This is a great collection of music from one of the premier singers of our time. Now, how about a Peabo Brson Duets CD' ?? That would be great!! S.D. (of 'Chaka's World')" Long overdue but finally available. Justo Roteta | Los Angeles, California United States | 07/20/2003 (4 out of 5 stars) "It's more than about time that Peabo Bryson had a comprehensive anthology like this one (which is very good). Capitol should reissue all of his big 1970s and '80s albums including "I Am Love", "Crosswinds", "Reaching For The Sky" and the Roberta Flack collaboration "Born To Love", however." Very Good Soulful Early Work mistermaxxx@yahoo.com | usa | 05/02/2001 (4 out of 5 stars) "it's Peabo's Early Material that really is the Highlight for me.from 77-to the early 80's His Material really had so much Feeling&SOul.as a Voclaist He was on point as well as a Composer&Musician. His later stuff got a Watered Down in Spots but overall this is a Dude that has Skills.but i had to think of all of the Material here.I Prefer His Older Material Better."
