CD ReviewsQuite Good, W. P. Melton | 09/27/2005 (4 out of 5 stars) "I'm usually not a fan of rock/punk/psychobilly bands. Too often it feels that fashion and aesthetic take precedence while the same boring 3 or 4 chords are bashed out over and over again with some hackneyed silly lyrics about hot rods or aliens etc. This is not the case with the Peacocks, who are very talented songwriters, crafting some very catchy songs with a fresh approach and a lot of passion. The songs are relatively poppy and a lot of fun to sing along to and they're all easy to relate to. Singing about relationships, friends and the scene without sounding whiny and are actually very uplifting and a little humourous without being saccharine or stupid. It's an album that puts you in a good mood pretty easily. The musicianship is solid, no blazing chops and they're a little sloppy, but the playing is passionate and enthusiastic, the bassists is very good, in particular and I love the sound of well-played upright bass. This is a happy album, it puts you in a good mood and you'll definately have a lot of these songs stuck in your head during the day. I would reccommend this album for fans of the rest of AMR's catalog (whom have probably already gotten this album...through them.) And for fans of early Living End, they're a bit mellower than the Living End, but they share their talent for finding really catchy hooks." NOT A BAD ALBUM phil donnahue | hell,666 | 07/26/2002 (4 out of 5 stars) "The Peacocks are back with another high powered cd. Not as good as "in without knocking" but still good."
