PEGGY KING: A Lost American Treasure!

"It is hard to understand how a singer of the quality of a Peggy King can be so little known, even among enthusiasts of big-band vocalists. Here is an American torch-singer who deserves to be ranked among the finest jazz vocalists ever: she is as perfect-pitched as Jo Stafford, as smooth as Chris Connor, as expressive as June Christy (though less tragic). This cd is a must for any serious collection of American music. Unfortunately, it is not easy to obtain, and we implore the cd label to reissue this treasure, as well as Ms. King's earlier albums from the fifties (surely among the rarest lps ever!). And tell us more about Ms. King! Does she still perform? Where is this genius????"
