An Excellent EP from Pendragon! Get it!

"If you are fan of Pendragon, or progressive rock in general, then be sure to add this one to your shopping cart! Although this four song EP lasts just over 25 minutes, what it lacks in length, it more than makes up for in pure quality! This EP was recorded as a gift to fan club members between the "Window of Life" and "Masquerade Overture" albums, and it retains the high quality level of that period in Pendragon history. Each of the songs is excellent in its own right, "The Third World In the U.K." is a deeply progressive piece, with enough dramatic twists and turns to give drummer Fudge Smith a real workout! Anyone who is a fan of Clive Nolan's keyboard work really must hear his fast and furious solo on "Third World", great stuff! "Dune" is a more straight-forward pop-rock tune, with a memorable chorus, and excellent lyrics and vocal touches from Nick Barrett. The melodic prog anthem "Sister Bluebird" is possibly one of Pendragon's finest tracks ever, full of mystery and majesty...not to mention some some of Barrett's most emotionally gripping guitar work! Then the EP concludes with the title track "Fallen Dreams and Angels", a truly beatiful piece of melodic rock, highlighted by a nice blend of acoustic guitar, flute-like keyboards, and a heartfelt vocal performance from Barrett. All in all, if you are at all into the music of Pendragon, don't let this almost forgotten gem pass you by!"

Short and Sweet

"This four song EP showcases Pendragon at there best. Overall these songs are mellower than those found on other releases by the band. Do not let that scare you away, there is a great deal of passion displayed through these four songs. This may be a good starting point for those who are not familiar with Pendragon. Pendragon's somewhat simplified and melodic mix of mid period Genesis (late 70's early 80's), early Marillion (Fish era) and Pink Floyd (Late 70's early 80's) is well displayed here. This Ep is worth it just to hear the wondeful "Sister Bluebird" which is one of my favorite songs by the band. Fans of the so called "neoprogressive rock" sound, i.e. IQ, Pallas, Marillion, Arena, Jadis, etc. should enjoy Pendragon. Fans of Genesis should also enjoy Pendragon, however do not buy this expecting a Genesis clone, you will be disappointed."
