"I've been a Pentangle fan for quite afew years and had purchased most of what was available on CD. I love both the early, classic period albums and the late 80's, early 90's version of the band which I was fortunate enough to catch in concert at the Bottom Line in NYC. I stumbled upon this CD while browsing here at Amazon. It contains tracks from two of their lesser known albums, "Cruel Sister" from 1970, and "Reflection" from 1971. Chronologically, these were their 4th and 5th releases, after the first three classic Pentangle albums, "Pentangle", "Sweet Child", and "Basket of Light". I'm giving this album 4 stars, as it's a notch below the aforementioned albums in quality, but it's still great stuff. Jaqui McShee's voice never sounded better than on these tracks, and the rest of the band is in top form. More eclectic instrumentation reared it's head on these cuts, including electric guitar, sitar, and banjo, which results in a kind of pastoral psychedelic feel to the arrangements . I love it!!"

"An odd little compilation which takes the Appalachian songs from 1971's Reflection, and adds a few traditional numbers from 1970's Cruel Sister. Which begs the question: er, why? If you're really looking for some prime Pentangle, try the excellent Light Flight collection (2 CDs for less than the price of this one), or track down a copy of Reflection or Basket Of Light."
