"During the late '60s and early '70s Maestro Percy Faith was churning out some of the best releases with top notch arrangements ~ thus enters the album at hand "Angel of the Morning/Black Magic Woman", featuring Faith's Orchestra and Chorus. Each song had an upbeat tone to it, with "DO YOU KNOW THE WAY TO SAN JOSE?" and the beautiful ballad "THIS GUY'S IN LOVE WITH YOU", both tunes from the composing team of Hal David and Burt Bacharach ~ you couldn't go anywhere in those days and not hear this being played on radio or the local jukebox. One of my favorite songs during that period was "MACARTHUR PARK", the great Jimmy Webb tune recorded by Richard Harris, but this song was destined for greater things, just sit back and listen to the strings and solo violin arrangement with the "Percy Faith Touch" that tugs at your heartstrings. Now we have something that only Percy Faith could tackle "BLACK MAGIC WOMAN", composed by Peter Green has all the elements that Mr. Faith was looking for, and what a workout the Faith Orchestra has in store for them, look at the result...pure satisfaction and then some ~ "IF", by David Gates is one of the most beautiful songs ever written, Percy's arrangement comes from the heart and weaves a magic spell over the listener ~ "REZA (RAY-ZA)", once again the Latin flavor that comes to the surface of each album that Mr. Faith records, very stimulating performance ~ "VIVA TIRADO", listen to this cue and visualize a tribal ceremony being performed, has all the elements of an epic adventure ~ "WAVE", the most sort after composer during that decade was Antonio Carlos Jobim and Percy was always there to record his music whenever the time presented itself, and it is here and now ~ gotta love it!Total Time: 70:56 on 22 Tracks ~ Collectables 7488 ~ (1/19/2002)"
