"This is an important compilation re-issued on CD in Japan. The reason I say "important" is because it was recorded in November of 1987 and these recordings are possibly Perez Prado's very last ones, as he died about two years (1989) later in Mexico City.
This CD contains then renewed versions of Prado's old time classic mambo hits like Mambo #5, "La Chula Linda", "Que Rico el Mambo"aka "Mambo Jambo","Mambo en Sax", "Cerezo Rosa"aka "Cherry Pink &Apple Blossom White","Mambo#8, "Taboo", "El Cumbanchero", "Bumble Bee Mambo", "Caballo Negro", "Patricia","Quien Sera"aka "Sway", "La Macarena", "Mambo Pachuco","Mambo Negro" and "Mosquito" aka "No me Moleste Mosquito", the latter a re-issue of one of Prado's late in his career compositions during the early to mid 70's.
When I heard this compilation I was pleasantly surprised. Great musical jazzy arrangements, great rhythms and nothing extravagant. A good collector's item that shouldn't be missed by fans of Cuba's late Damaso Perez Prado and his creation, the Mambo!"
