"I just heard Pete Benz at Nephew's in San Marcos on Saturday 1/13/01. He and his band were outstanding. I heard his current song on radio -- "Good Luck" -- on a local Austin country station, Lonestar 93.3 FM, and decided to hear him play in my town two days later. It was well worth it and although this CD only has 7 songs on it, it is going to be one of my favorites! The best song on the disc is "Hang On Cowboy" which is about Brent Thurman, a local Austin rider who lost his life in a freak accident. It's such a moving song and Pete's vocals are great as well as the music supporting him. The album sounds very professional in its production, Kim Carnes even helps out on one of the tracks, and I am sure that you will be pleasantly surprised when you hear this album. "Down Near Mexico" involves Pete singing in both English and Spanish! I am sure Pete is going to make it big. He's a personable guy with lots of energy and talent. All I can say is "Good Luck!""

"Okay, Pete Benz is a local artist where I live in Central Texas. And because he's from around here, I am always hearing his music on the radio, and have seen him at dancehalls around here: Outlaws, the Backyard & others. He is one of the most genuine guys that I have met. His quality of music is superb, and he has kept me entertained more times than I can count. This album is a "must." If you are thinking about buying it, take my word as someone who has sat and talked to him between sets, it is a classic. I hope he makes it to Nashville, and gets a huge recording label. "what else can be said about an album like this. if you are a true country fan, or even if you aren't, this is an album that everyone should experience. from the relaxing sounds of "i've been blessed" (duet with kim carnes), to the pick you up off the floor make you feel great sounds of "good luck". every song on this album will definintly have something for everyone.i have seen pete benz perform live on numerous occasions. not only is he an excellent performer, he is one of the nicest people you will ever meet. try the album, you will not regret it. remember the name pete benz. you will definitely be hearing it more and more in the future."
