A Plush Horsewith a Monkey on a String is the newest CD release by Peter Blast with fresh beginnings and more diversity than ever. Blast has proven once again that he still has a few tricks up his sleeve and is most willing to share them. Alongside are featured performances by Steve Conte of the New York Dolls, Paul Simon, and Willy DeVille - performing guitar, E-bow, or slide guitar to several of these new Blast tracks. Peter also serves up a nice plate by adding Brian Wilson's five string bassist, Bob Lizik, into the mix, along with ex-Hi-Fi and the Roadburners drummer, Dan Curry. There are also performances by Chicago guitarist Top Cat, who played slide and lap guitar in Peter's side group, The Elegant Transients. Chip Z'Nuff adds in some bass tracks along with Chicago blues pianist, R.P. Michaels. His tribute to Johnny Thunders will tip you off to his musical direction as Blast and company do exactly what comes as second nature in performing raw, traditional rock.
