This studio recording documents saxophonist Peter Fraize's working trio, which for nearly a decade hosted weekly jam sessions in the notable DC venues State Of The Union, One Step Down, Bohemian Caverns, and Twins Jazz. The rhythm section consists of bassist Steve Zerlin, and drummer Leland Nakamura. The CD features four Fraize originals: the open-ended take on the blues Union Blues, the impressionistic title cut, the dark harmonies of Mr. Y, and the manic energy and free blowing on Ms. Combat. It also includes the freewheeling Zerlin-penned Collector's Item and an Ellingtonian romp through the Bee Gees favorite How Deep Is Your Love? which closes out the album. Third Attention was released in 1998 on Union Records and is packaged in a 6-panel cardboard GCD Pack.
