Fine album geared toward casual fans and newcomers

"20th Century Masters - The Millennium Collection: The Best of Peter Frampton is actually one of the better entries in this CD series. The sound is excellent and the artwork is typical for this series. Normally this series cuts short the "best of" by any artist; but here the ten songs we get truly do represent Peter Frampton when he was at his very best. This may be the perfect place for the casual fan or newcomer to start; and if they like this then they can purchase more substantial albums by Peter Frampton.

"Show Me The Way" starts the album with Peter performing this awesome tune live! Peter sings this really well and the guitar work is excellent. Peter never sings a superfluous note and I am amazed by how great he sounded in concert that day! "I'm In You" is a charming rock ballad that celebrates the joys of being in love with your very special person. Peter sings this equally well and the guitar work sounds great! I like the lyrics to the song and I always enjoy Peter Frampton performing "I'm In You."

"Lines on My Face" features Peter squarely in the spotlight and he performs this so well; the key modulations make the number even better and Peter really shines on "Lines On My Face." It's easily a highlight of this album. In addition, Peter Frampton does an excellent cover of Stevie Wonder's "Signed, Sealed, Delivered I'm Yours." The backup singers enhance the beauty of this triumphant sounding number and Peter is especially excellent on this tune! I know Stevie Wonder was proud of this rendition of his ballad.

"I Can't Stand It No More" gives us a more rockin' beat as Peter and his band mates bat this one straight out of the ballpark! "I Can't Stand It No More" is an excellent number that Peter and his mates perform without a flaw. There's really not a dud in the bunch on this CD!

The album ends with Peter's very famous performance of "Do You Feel Like We Do." "Do We Feel Like We Do" is classic rock at its very best and I predict you'll like this number very much. It's excellent!

Overall, although there could have been a song or two more on this CD, what we do get is solid quality Frampton. Although fans will love these songs, they may already have them in their collections. Therefore, I think this album is best geared toward the casual fan or the newcomer who wants to fins out just how great Peter Frampton was--and still is. If you like this album, try getting other CDs by Peter Frampton.

A gem of an album !!!

"Ordinarily the 20th Century Masters Series disappoints me because the CDs run very short--only about 36 to 40 minutes on average. Thank goodness they didn't do that with Peter Frampton! Here on this CD you get roughly an hour of some of his best performances including live concert tracks, too.

The CD starts with the awesome "Show Me The Way" performed live; and the song rocks hard--this number is a classic! The use of the guitars and percussion add strength to the musical arrangement; and Peter's vocals are excellent. His voice is rich, warm and full of masculine strength. The audience sure loves it, too!

The romantic and thoughtful "I'm In You" follows; this love ballad celebrates the joys of true love. Peter and his band perform this with great sensitivity. Awesome!

Other gems on this CD include "Nassau/Baby, I Love Your Way;" and Peter and his band perform a really rockin' version of "Signed, Sealed Delivered (I'm Yours)."

The CD ends with a whopping 14 minute live track of "Do You Feel Like We Do." Peter uses the talkbox for a great effect and the audience especially likes the way the band jams and takes their time to deliver this one just right!

The liner notes include a great essay about Frampton's career by Scott Schinder; and you get all the song credits, too. Moreover, the art work is excellent.

Peter Frampton fans will love this CD; and people who want to get to know the artistry of Peter Frampton would do very well to start with this CD. People who really get into that classic rock sound from the 1970s will love this CD, too!

Enjoy!!!!

"The "Frampton Comes Alive" tour was the first concert I ever attended. It still is one of the best.

This CD is a good collection of Frampton's work. It's a taste of the best of his 70's career and much of the music still holds up very well today.

Peter Frampton's still making music today and his voice sounds great. One of his standout performances is on "Mad Dogs and Okies" a various CD of musicians who have worked with Jamie Oldaker, an Oklahoma sideman."
