"I have been a fan of game show hosts for years, and Peter Marshall is one of them. Although Peter will forever be known as the original host of "Hollywood Squares," this CD should introduce most of the public to his superb vocal stylings (in the tradition of Sinatra, Dick Haymes and other great male singers). Let me be one of the first to tell you that this is not his first foray into recording (he recorded a long-forgotten album during his "Squares" tenure that I happen to own), but this CD is ten times better, with wonderful standard song material, superb charts (written by two legends-Ray Ellis and Sammy Nestico, along with two of Peter's own arrangers-Alan Copeland and Larry White), and superb orchestral backing by the creme de la creme of Hollywood studio musician talent. The ballads are great, however, as a fan of the kind of big band jazz Sammy Nestico writes and arranges, I wish there had been one or two more uptempo pieces. In my opinion, this is one of the best-kept secrets of great pop singing that has emerged in years. BRAVO PETER!!!"
