"In 1995 Peter Weniger was an invited soloist by the famed Metropole Orchestra of the Netherlands and the chemistry was great! You don't get as much of the syrupy strings melody as associated with other artists, namely "Kenny G". The orchestra is an integral part of the performance and shares equal stage with Weniger's sax solos. You don't see very often counterpoint between a sax and violin soloist as exhibited on track 2, "Together Again". My complements go to the arrangers for creating a much more diverse, rather than going for a a more lush(only)commercial sound. There are several well known comps such as "Green Dolphin Street" and The Duke's "In a Sentimental Mood", tastefully improvised by Weniger. Weniger contibutes two of his own compositions to the set. This is not a live recording, but it shares the intensity of one, because Weniger is there working with the orchestra, not thousands of miles away being dubbed in. Pick this one up while you can! How many contemporay albums are out there with a big band and string section, featuring a saxophone soloist?"
