CD Reviews

Excellent Jesus music by some of the pioneers of the genre
Tracy V | Somerset, KY | 07/03/2003
(5 out of 5 stars)

"For music that is over a quarter century old, this album stands the test of time. My particular favorites are the Keaggy numbers, most of which are live versions of song off his first two albums. The musicianship on this album can hold its own against any music of its period, and blows away much of what is forced onto the public now. If you want to hear authentic Jesus music, when the artists were more concerned about the message than the money, give this a listen. You'll not be disappointed. Favorit song is Keaggy's 'Time', blues/rock ala Cream."
Better than I remembered

"I wore out 2 copies of the cassette version of these albums when I was in high school and it had been YEARS since I'd heard it, but the music was definitely better than I remembered. I wish I could say that of all of my childhood memories. :) Guitar and vocals are superb and timeless. Great trip down memory lane!"
Keaggy's set is classic
David MacKenzie | Gaithersburg, MD United States | 11/27/2009
(4 out of 5 stars)

"I'm not a fan of 2nd Chapter of Acts, but Phil Keaggy's set on this album ranks up there with its contemporary Frampton Comes Alive for live rock improv married to catchy songs. A lot of the Glass Harp spirit shines through in Phil's performance, and "A Band called David" does a fine job keeping up with him. Standout tracks include Time, Rejoice, Just the Same, and a nice version of Your Love Broke Through.
