"Grate" jamming--which you'd expect

"The "Friends" playing with Phil Lesh on 06/27/06 were John Scofield on guitar, Larry Campbell on guitar, fiddle, and vocals, Joan Osborne on vocals, John Molo on drums, and Rob Barraco on piano, organ, and vocals. This apparently was John Scofield's last night with the band on this tour. The saxophonist, Greg Osby, was not with the band on 06/27/06, but he did play with the band on other nights of the tour, for sure on 07/15/06, which is the other "Instant Live" show that I purchased and also is very good. The entire set list from 06/27/06 is from the Grateful Dead repertoire. There are some nice jams on virtually all of the songs. Except for Joan Osborne, the quality of the vocals isn't that great. Let's face it, singing was never Phil's strong suit, and Larry Campbell and Rob Barraco aren't much better. The vocals don't detract from the music, however, which is great, as is the sound quality. Highly recommended."
