"This japanese issued CD is one of Phil Wood's best sets. The tunes on Gratitude include originals and some standards. Tom Harrell on trumpet is as superb as Woods and wrote some of the best cuts as well. No dogs here just great small group jazz. Also the digital sound quality considering the early date 1986 is excellent - far better than most 80s digital recordings which are usually horrid."
