Excellent compilation; awesome performances!

"If you love Saint Saens, buy this disk! A similiar compilation can be had on another Sony disk with the Saint Saens symphony; either is an excellent addition to any music library.The symphony is distinguished by awesome string playing with some really incredible portamenti in the slow movement. Not to mention that the blood, sweat and tears from the orchestra seem to emanate from the speakers!The danse macabre is thrilling, as it should be. Ormandy is an excellent story teller.The Bacchanale, as was the case when he recorded it for RCA, is awesome, with an over-powering climax.Engineering is fine.I know I kept using "awesome", but it's hard to find all the right superlatives!"
