Product DescriptionWeather Sounds is a series of natural soundscape recordings made by nature recordist and composer Philip Goddard, capturing various natural soundscapes in which some aspect of weather is the primary feature. It might be wind, rain, or thunder, but always the aim would be to avoid isolating the respective weather sound, and thus to record it in a proper broader context, with such sounds as birds, insects, sea, and indeed anything else that makes a harmonious and healthy-to-listen-to natural soundscape, and always with the location properly identified and usually described. This 66-minute album presents an extract from an all-night recording of continuous rain on the night of 23-24 November 2018 from Philip Goddard's bedroom window in central Exeter, Devon, UK, varying from moderate to more or less torrential, though sounding gentler because this is from second-floor height, and most of the direct rainfall impacts are a way down below and so sound quite gentle. In addition we hear nearer at hand various drippings and the trickling sounds of run-off from roofs in various drainpipes, including one close at hand. A very comforting watery sound, and a great sleeping aid!To aid navigation, the album is split into four tracks, which play without a break.
