"This is probably my favorite Phillip Walker album, but all are great, especially the earlier ones. He has a stylish, subtle, masterful phrasing about his guitar playing that is fascinating to listen to---and I should know, as I have been playing blues guitar for 17 years. Add to that his great, expressive singing, and you can't lose. This album has some perfect blues songs, from the sad, forlorn "laughing and clowning," to "bottom of the top." There are some upbeat ones too, like "it's all in your mind," and "I can't lose with the stuff I use.""
