Peter Lawson was born in Manchester and studied there with Derrick Wyndham and Sulamita Aronovsky. He has appeared as a regular soloist in Europe and the UK, where he gained a distinguished reputation for combining a brilliant technique, adventurous programming, and a repertoire stretching from the classics to jazz. He has appeared on Radio 3 and performed with the Hallé, Royal Liverpool Philharmonic, London Mozart Players, and the BBC regional orchestras, to name just a few. Jonathan Carney comes from a unique musical family background. As all six members of his family graduated from the Juilliard School in New York, music was a constant influence from an early age. Before being appointed Leader of the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, he toured the Americas and the Far East as a leader and soloist with orchestras from Europe and North America. Carney has been the concertmaster of the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra since 2002.
