"The magic far outshines any piano, titular or otherwise, which is the way it's always been w/ Piano Magic. There's just no stopping the maturity of an album like this: it brings together many of the dynamics each previous album has attempted with slightly less success. If you know PM you'll know what I mean. Some bands get better each outing. It's a joy to listen to Glen Johnson's vocals, as innocent or plaintive-sounding as ever -- though we now know he can cuss too. And the female lead/duet vocals: no artist has a better ear for twee-talent than does Glen. I also sense a kind of perfectionism in the whole effort, and yet a natruralness; I don't know which they really applied. Some of the melodic stuff is as delicately built as Mozart, so to speak (a good thing). I'm very happy for them, and for myself, that there is a disc I can happily just leave in the player for a few days."
