This is really excellent sounding contemporary Dub/Electronica. It is very organic and textural, it does have some Digital sounds, which do not at all detract from it, but rather make it a more modern and up to date take on the cool Dub sound or yore. I don't know much about this group "Pitch Black" except that they hail from New Zealand, where I believe there is a strong and robust Dub and Reggae community, the only other similar sounding group that I am aware of is "Salmonella Dub" who also are from N.Z. I find this music, which is predominantly Ambient, and features the masterful use of saturated tape echo effects, is excellent for relaxing to, and I can highly recommend it to ALL keen listener's of the huge variety of electronic ambient music that exists today! To finish, I am very impressed with this fine C.D and am very glad I own it, and will listen to it for many years to come, it's a keeper! Andrew Shields (Melbourne, Australia)" |
