Synopsis

This is the companion CD to a video game where the player gets to pretend to be Hugh Hefner, so "heads" won?t be coming to this disc for the latest schaffel, breakcore or baile funk tracks. And indeed, these songs are not the very freshest; Armand van Helden?s "Fly Away" came out in 2001, for chrissakes, and we all know dance music moves in dog years. Then again, it takes years to put together a video game, and four of the songs do appear in the game itself. Freaky electro pioneer Felix da Housecat has assembled a solid mix of poppy, four on the floor house here. This is music to get mindless, down and dirty to, the perfect soundtrack to a Spring Break-themed party. No one is likely to think of this as Felix?s finest moment, but hopefully the Detroit native now gets invited to the mansion whenever he?s in town. --Mike McGonigal

(2 out of 5 stars)

"I'm not sure what the guy below me is talking about. I am shocked that Felix would put his name on something of this low of quality. The track selection is fine. However, the mixing is absolutely poor compared to something like Felix's Bugged Out Mix. I was expecting some high quality house music properly mixed, instead I buy it and it's all 10 second mixes. And the one song in the middle that's kind of a downtempo track just jumps into another upbeat house track and it sounded horrible. I was very disappointed, because I have seen Felix live and own his other CDs and know how good he really is. Stay away from this CD, I can hardly see anyone that knows their stuff enjoying this."
