Great Music for Great Price

"This is actually the first review i have ever written in 34 years. I'm doing it for two reasons: 1) I see there are no other reviews available for this collection and 2) The Pogues are my favorite (folk/rock/punk/irish/even bluegrass)group ever.

So here it is: First of all the presentation of the albums was a surprise to me, the vinyl replica is very nice ( I expected hard case)all thought it doesn't come with any type of booklet or additional information. The first cd, Red Roses for Me is a little worn out on the mastering department, the bass is all over the place and sometimes there are ups and downs in the sound on some songs. This was a little bit dissapointing but then again these AREN'T the remastered series. Nevertheless from then on the albums are fantastic, the sound is great and well, so are the Pogues.

For any Pogues fan who doesn't own any (or not all) of these cd's this is really a great boxset, great music, great price.

P.S : If You really want to complete a Shane MacGowan collection I recommend "The best of the Pogues and "The Best of the Rest""( They both have a couple of great songs from an E.P that's impossible to find), plus "The Rare Ol' Stuff" by the Popes.
