This one takes me back. The "truckin'" version is not the "famous" one, but it still rocks. To those that are not familiar with Joe Pop-O-Pie should file this as pre-hard core, pre-indie, pre-west coast preppie punk, non-corporate polished, old school Frisco garage, 80's club rock with an infusion of anti-sellout humor. The oddity here is that these guys had exceptional music skills that they then refused to conform into a "sellable" package of "hair-band" or "post-punk alternative" that was prevelant at the time. Picture a cross between the Ramones, any 70's/80's British Punk (UK Subs, Clash, John Cooper-Clark), and Frank Zappa. Then you have the Pop-O-Pies. I hope Joe's not upset with this review. He really deserves better.

"It's this kind of music that got me through the 80's. If you like any of the bands on SST or Alternative Tentacles then you'll grin like a fool when you listen to this CD. Just another reason not to take life too seriously."
