"This is an incredible bargain. All four performances are either top or near-top choices. No. 36 is given a stately performance with a great balance of fire and elegance. Tate gives No. 40 a warm and romantic view rather than singularly dramatic. In any case, it is a very affecting performance. No. 41 is easily my favourite performance of this greatest of all symphonies. The pacing in this performance, as usual with Tate in his Mozart symphonies, is more leasurely than any other version I have heard, yet the music also flows with more force than I have ever heard."
