"JLY is a great introduction to the BIG STUDIO SOUND era of the Pkids, and its 5(+1) songs nicely sketch out the basic punk, funk and new wave parameters of their sound. "Voight" might be the weakest song, just an excuse to feature one of Rose's most punishing yet simple basslines and a great groove. "Sick Of It All" is a perennial concert staple, sort of a crunching metal version of Devo's "Be Stiff" with jangly angst bookending the tune. And "Uther" has some of Rick's most heartfelt singing and incisive lyrical commentary.Typical for Poster Children, extraordinary for just about anybody else."
