"People look at the title and the cover and pass up on this record. There is no bigger mistake you can make.
This is a must have record. A diamond from a classic era. From start to finish this is one of the most enjoyable metal records that you will ever hear. Very heavy, yet at the same time bursting at the seams with unforgetable melodies.
Classic Metal is definitely what it is but it's the best kind of Classic Metal. Tight playing, great production, truly memorable tunes.
Play this thing at your record shop and people will stop shopping to ask who it is. Maybe irresistible is the word I'm looking for.
Whatever you do don't pass up on this CD if you consider yourself a fan of classic metal. A historic piece of work."
Heavy metal doesn't get much better

"After the instrumental intro ("Fortuna"), Pretty Maids kick off with the fast and hard "Back to back", and there's no doubt that we're in for heavy metal quality time. Pretty Maids have both the speed ("Back to back", "Night danger") and the melody ("Queen of dreams", "A place in the night"), the heavy approach ("Red, hot and heavy") as well as a softer side ("Waitin' for the time"). Singer Ronnie Atkins is perfectly suited for Pretty Maids and he's capable to variation in his singing style, and guitar player Ken Hammer is without doubt talented. This album is packed with traditional heavy metal with its roots in New Wave Of British Heavy Metal, and in my opinion it's top quality from the beginning to the end. The album cover is indeed not good, but don't be prejudiced. After this excellent album, Pretty Maids followed it up with "Future world", but that is a pale copy in comparison. Do yourself a favour and get "Red, hot and heavy" as fast as you can."
Very good, indeed!

"This is a very good record. If you like heavy metal I bet you'll like this one. It has these great riff, melodic vocals, catchy chorus and good guitar solo's. Pretty Maids are not a regular "hair metal band", but there is simularities to bands like Dokken. All I can say is buy this album and crank up the volume real loud!!"
