Good Collection from Stones Contemporaries

""The EP Collection... Plus" offers a great overview of the Pretty Things, who played alongside the Rolling Stones in the small clubs of mid-60s London. The Pretty Things offer a brand of hard R&B that was similar to the Stones of that period, but harder and rawer. Many of these songs compare favorably with American garage-rock bands such as the Chocolate Watchband. This compilation is the equivalent of a greatest-hits-plus-b-sides collection covering the years 1964-66. Any fan of American garage rock or early Stones should grab this. Great stuff!"

"Another worthy compilation of the Pretty Thing's work. This 26 track collection are(what I assume)from their early 45 singles from the 1964-66 era. There are several cuts here I don't recognize, right off hand. But,rest don't worry.A good most of the tunes from UK's psych/R&B underdogs are very good. This most certainly isn't some second rate comp. Tunes that are nice to put in the home entertainment center after dusk are "Roadrunner", "Big Boss Man", "London Town", "Get The Picture?", "Honey I Need" and two of WHAT I've always felt are a couple of their very best "L.S.D." and the boot-stomper of that('60's)decade "Rosalyn". Recommended."
