CD ReviewsPrime Movers Are GO! J. Ramsey | Sierra Madre, CA USA | 03/03/2009 (5 out of 5 stars) "In the eighties, The Prime Movers were signed to Island Records and had two hit singles in the UK, "On The Trail" and "Dark Western Night." "...Night" featured an amazing guest guitar appearance by the late Stuart Adamson of Big Country who lent his unique bagpipe, E-Bow guitar sound to the record.
A song by The Prime Movers was featured in director Michael Mann's cult thriller, "Manhunter" (the prequel to "The Silence Of The Lambs"). Mann loved the group so much that he personally financed a video of the band to promote the film's soundtrack. In the nineties, The Prime Movers morphed into Dread Zeppelin. But this is where it all started. The Museum album is offered for the very first time on CD and contains five previously unreleased bonus tracks. Included is the band's first single, "Chances," originally released by Birdcage in 1983 and thought to be lost. Also four amazing live tracks recorded on their tour supporting Big Country in 1986." |
