""And the Word Became Flesh" brings to life 15 years of recorded poetry set against a backdrop of smooth R&B grooves and jazz beats--a mix Prof. Griff calls "poetical soul." Three of the songs are new: "Hypocrites," "European on Me" (a pointed warning about 21st century technological slavery, and the "times are hard"-themed "T.H.I.N.K." The rest of the tracks are culled from Prof. Griff's four earlier solo efforts and his work with Public Enemy--all digitally re-recorded for a fresher feel. The poems are brought to the forefront and the message is emphasized with a more mature sound.Listen for the music, listen for the message...it's a satisfying CD all around."

"This album takes me back to when Griff was with Public Enemy. This is a tight album, especially if youre into spoken word rap. The track with Chuck D is dope, Hypocrites."
