"A refreshing new group of musicians with very interesting arrangements of classic South American rhythms. Lets hear more from this group."

"As a person interested in the history of wind ensembles, I find this album absolutely fascinating. The instrumentation of this group is the same as one might find in a small community band of the 1890s: two trumpets, two trombones, a tuba, a woodwind player, and percussionists. Yet the music is contemporary. The playing is virtually flawless. Hearing the tuba carry the bass line makes my foot tap. The woodwind player--who apparently plays everything from piccolo to baritone saxophone--is incredible. Performances of Latin jazz pieces are often punctuated with heartfelt and fun vocal insertsions.
If you're going to spend money on a CD and are worried about your investment, this one will give you lots of pleasure. I can't find a single bad cut on the whole CD.

"Phenomenal brass playing as you will find in all Proteus 7 recordings. I own the entire collection however this one remains my favorite. I will never grow tired of listening to it. Your spirits can not help but be lifted after listening to this CD. A must have for all brass students."
