CD ReviewsHardcore Industrial Dance Techno That Really Shakes You Max Etchemendy | California | 06/09/2000 (5 out of 5 stars) "Psykosonik is an incredible techno band. In my experience with techno over the years I have rarely found such a consistently excellent group. Their first, self-titled compact disk, Psykosonik, is heavy on rave, industrial beats. It's a very active listening experience, and includes cyber-world lyrics reminiscent of the greatest of techno greats, Kraftwerk. There is one somewhat mellow song on the album, Down to the Ground, which proves that Psykosonik is more than just a hard-beat-pounding techno group. The entire ambience of the album--from the sound to the lyrics to the anarchist overtones of some of the songs--brings forth images of cyberpunk landscapes. If you like beat-intense techno, check this out! Also look for their second album, Unlearn, which features more mellow but much more sophisticated songs." A Gem M. Randall | Allen Park, MI | 10/15/2004 (4 out of 5 stars) "Psykosonik was always a favorite for those early 90's industrial/techno nuts. And for good reason.. They definitley had it going on. To this very day I still can't understand why they disbanded. This album, while not as good as their 2nd, is still incredible. This CD focuses more on the dance scene while the other is focused more on atmospheric. Some highlights on this album are "welcome to my mind" and "silicon jesus". Of course don't take my word for it.. Check them out yourself. Psykosonik is a perfect example of 90's industrial, which in my view, was the best time for the genre. PS. if you enjoyed this CD then check out Psykosonik's tracks on all 3 of the Mortal Kombat soundtracks.. The style on those songs is alot closer to this CD then the 2nd album." Damn this disk burns up the Hrz! fusako | Midgar | 01/19/2000 (5 out of 5 stars) "i got the "Unlearn" cd first by these guys first, and i was thinking "hmm, sings like pop music, yet has a definite mood and quick beat." this first cd is WAY closer to what most people consider "techno" or "electronica". the thing about this album i like the most is the heavy rhythm etched with the edge of occasional electric guitar (very nicely sequenced too). Also they have a very smooth singing style, all together a well balanced bouliabase of house/techno/rock. plus its lots of fun to listen to while reading "Dirty Pair" :)"
